Le discours baroque dans espagnole coloniale:
Voyage vers le silence
This work focuses on a period and a geographical area overlooked until now: the seventeenth century and the old Spanish Empire of America. Addressing Baroque literature and the emergence of Creole consciousness in the viceroyalty of New Spain, it offers an innovative reading of the work of Creole scholars, their functions and characteristics, in particular through the example of Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, a especially iconic figure. The approach taken by the author brilliantly combines social and cultural research.
Le discours baroque dans l'Amérique espagnole coloniale: voyage vers le silence was translated into French by Bernard Lavallé from its original version in Spanish, available here.
